More Miscellaneous Alice Cooper Images

I found this envelope that had a few Alice Cooper cutouts.
from some publications. Some came from a small cover pic or
content page. I used to cut them out and use them for my cassette cover art.
I know the last 3 cutouts are from Kerrang! issues I can tell by the color border
and I believe may have been repeated in earlier posts.

1973, Alice Cooper poster by Kevin Goff

I remember purchasing this poster at The Soundfactory back in 1975
which was a small record shop in my hometown.
I forgot how much I paid for it but it was a huge size poster
42x59 inches it was so big that you can read the writing
on Alice's bracelet.

I have a funny story about this poster.
Since this poster was pretty big it took up one wall.
I placed it on the wall in my bedroom.
The poster was positioned if you walk into my room it looks like
Alice is kneeling on the bed.

One day my sister had friends over and one of them had a little kid
who was just running around the house. Not being mischievous just running
up & down the hall in & out of rooms as the adults
were talking. Well all of a sudden the child stopped running & they wonder
why he was so quite. As they approach him he's just standing at the entrance
of my bedroom staring at the poster.
I wonder if I scarred him for life.

Back in 1985 we ended up doing some remodeling.
I wasn't around at the time but when my family took the poster down
they accidentally torn the corner. I was able to tape it up from the back
and have to say you can't notice it.
During this time I rolled it up & put it away.

I couldn't take a photo of my poster since it's so large
Here is an image of the poster I found on-line

2012, Before There Was Punk There Was A Band Called Death DVD, Alice Cooper cameo

2012

Before There Was Punk There Was A Band Called Death

(1hr 36 min)

Info: This captivating documentary tells the story of three teenage brothers from Detroit who founded the first black punk band in the early 1970s.

Directed by Jeff Howlett and Mark Christopher Covino

Cast
David Hackney (rip), Bobby Hackney, Dannis Hackney, Alice Cooper, Henry Rollins, Kid Rock, Jello Biafra and more.

I was able to stream this documentary on Netflix but it is also available on DVD.
Alice Cooper only appears in the beginning for about 2 or 3 minutes of this documentary.
But if you are into early punk and rock n roll with an amazing story of these three brothers against all odds in the music field this is for you.

Documentary starts out from a Howard Stern Radio Show talking about this band called Death. Three black brothers David, Bobby and Dannis Hackney from Detroit forming one of the first Punk style band in 1973 way before Punk, Ramones, etc...
Never got their fame until now finally getting the recognition they deserve. David the leader never wavered from his belief that Death was the name and would never bend to others. Even when Clive Davis offered them $20,000 contract only if they change the name. David was spiritual at times reminded me of Marc Bolan, Jimi Hendrix or Morrison always believing in something more powerful than what is on earth.
They got into The Who and Alice Cooper. David Hackney was inspired to play like Pete Townshend and Jimi Hendrix.
By getting many rejections and dirty looks on the band name Death they moved to Vermont by 1980 then changed it to The 4th Movement with religious overtones. Still not getting good reviews David went back to Detroit with his wife he met in Vermont. Meantime Bobby and Dannis stayed and formed a band called LambsBread that was more reggae. By 2000 David died from lung cancer. Before his death he gave his borther all of the Death tapes saying someday people will be looking for these tapes. Bobby’s son started hearing Death being played at underground parties when he informed his father the wheels starting turning and more people got invovled in this band called Death.
After 35 years Death reformed with Bobbie Duncan filling in for David now playing gigs.
The original 7 tracks are available on amazon.

It is available to stream on Netflix. If looking for some Alice clips just watch the opening of this film but you will lose out on an amazing band that was looked over for 35 years.

UNCUT

Titled "CH-CH-CH-CH-CHANGES"
It's sort of funny how UNCUT always gives their articles a song title
from another band to talk about a completely different band.

2008, GUITAR WORLD, Babies On Fire

This was from an on-line issue I don't have the printed version
but saved the PDF when it came out in 2008.
I believe it's 2008 since it's the 35th Annivesary of Billion Dollar Babies
album released 1973.

This is a good interview w/ remaining original band
Alice Cooper, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith
and Producer Bob Ezrin.
It's a shame Glen Buxton passed on before all these original band interviews started
to make it in a number of music publications.
Glen would of made some good comments and funny remarks.
