1980 Black Widow Fan Club

Black Widow Fan Club of 1980. This is Alice's New Wave period as you see from the photos. When I received this I thought the name Black Widow didn't fit his style of music he was recording at the time. Also Alice changed his make up. I remember thinking this is a bit scary especially with Alice wearing a bun. All photos by Jonathan Exley.

This photo below is the cover of the Fan Club folder

Inside of the folder gives Alice's Bio and Discography.

Alice appears on Tuesday, March 5, 1974 in detective series The Snoop Sisters episode titled "The Devil Made Me Do It".  Alice plays a witch named Prince. The episode explains why he says he's a witch not warlock. Alice performs a recorded and edited version of Sick Things.
The Snoop Sisters are out on DVD and prior to DVD release
through Alice Cooper fans this clip has been passed around.

1991 Hey Stoopid Newsletter

Promoting Hey Stoopid release.
They mention that someone was suppose to print and mail
the prior Trash Newsletter but they never sent them out.
So this is a longer newsletter mailer than usual.
Photos seem to be taken from the Trash Tour.

Madhouse Rock Tour Book

This is the second edition of The Madhouse Rock Tour book according to The Alice Cooper Tour Program Website. The original our book came out in '78 I'm guessing the second edition may have been published in '79 during the tour. This is an oversized book that I had to scan in pieces so there may be some cropped off images near the edge. I also found a few images from The Alice Cooper Tour Program Website to save some time. The actual book size is 10x14 inches so you can imagine the spreads being double the size. The last tour book I got close to this size was the Trash tour. I haven't seen tour books at concerts in a long time.

The cover is the image that now graces "The Strange Case of Alice Cooper" DVD.

Inside cover and page 1.

There are some performers that reappear from "Welcome To My Nightmare" tour
that makes "Madhouse Rock" tour seem even bigger.

If the illustration on left looks familiar it was by Bill Garland who did the inside sleeve on "Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits" album.  The black & white illustration of Alice Cooper inside the garage surrounded by movie stars from the 1920's to 1950's.

This creature on the left looks so much like a left over from Jim Henson's Muppet Show.
This is the first time Alice incorporated the athletic support cup as part of his costume.

Alice states in "The Strange Case" DVD that the electric chair isn't as dramatic as the gallows or guillotine. I have to agree it just sparks and smokes as Alice shakes in the chair.

Here's a picture of Alice w/ baby and carriage. This usually appears when Alice
sings "Dead Babies" a song that didn't appear on the DVD.
Next page check out the prices. $3 for a tour book!
I remember trying to purchase the jacket but it was sold out.

Hit Parader "From The Inside"

I believe this article is from Hit Parader '79 since the Q & A list questions by HP. I can't think of any other music publication by those initials. When I was a kid I never saved the whole issue unless Alice was on the cover. Considering living in a small city apartment and sharing a room w/ my brother we had limited space. I included the article below Alice's since it's interesting to know what other music was being printed about at that time.

Black Widow Fan Club Mailer

Since "Strange Case of Alice Cooper" DVD is now out I figure I'll stick with the theme. This is a mailer I received to join The International Black Widow Fan Club. I was in the "Lace and Whiskey" fan club so that's how they got my name and address.
The first scan is the outside 3 fold mailer. The second scan is the inside.
The photos look to be from Alice's "From The Inside" tour. Although all the photos I received from the fan club were Alice during his New Wave era. I will post those later.
I do have "From The Inside" tour book that will follow as well.
