2008, aug 15, Goldmine, Backstage Pass: Alice Cooper

August 15, 2008
Goldmine

Whew! Last of the oversized publications in my collection.
Well I do have some past Rolling Stone issues but luckily
I also have them reprinted in magazine format from
"Alice Cooper Scrapbook" which is easier to scan.

note on right column ON THE WEB
they have Alice Cooper schedule July 28
on Goldmine radio

Sidebar story on Pg 29
about "Along Came Came A Spider"
release which I think is a great album
that should of had it's own stage show.
Each song I imaged what Alice would be doing on stage.

1998, Get Out, Beat Angels article

Beat Angels singer Brian Smith writes an article in "Get Out"
a Arizona newspaper from his experiences on the road of touring.
Brian Smith also co-wrote "Sideshow" from Alice's "The Last Temptation" album.
Brian Smith has some history w/ Alice Cooper as far back as 1983 in his earlier band
Gentlemen After Dark in which Alice Cooper & Dick Wagner produced their EP.

Brian Smith is also a writer who wrote for an Arizona newspaper and also wrote
the liner notes on the Deluxe Billion Dollar Babies CD. From what I heard recently
Brian is now living in Chicago writing for one the city's newspapers.

Beat Angels was a good band. I enjoyed their music sort of
Ramones, Boomtown Rats, New York Dolls.
I did have the opportunity to see them perform in Boston
at Aerosmith's Mama Kins club which they do mention in the article.
I also had a chance to talk to Brian at the club & found him very friendly to talk too.
