Metal Rules interview with Tommy Henriksen

Metal Rules has an amazing interview w/ Tommy Henriksen
Tommy talks about his experience w/ Alice Cooper
and a number of bands he played w/ back in the day.
I didn't know he played w/ Warlock and Doro's debut album.
I had to pull them out and see for myself. Although Warlock there wasn't
any info other than who wrote the songs.
Tommy also talks about trying out for Ozzy and David Lee Roth.
The guy's been around.

2015, Hollywood Vampires vinyl

When the release of Hollywood Vampires on vinyl was
coming out I went to Newbury Comics to pick it up.
Unfortunately only a few selected stores had them.
So I didn't get it right away but I remember the store clerk
said the one at Faneuil Hall in Boston has one. I figured it
would of been bought by now since the CDs were sold out
and had to wait for second shipping.
So I put it off and received an email from Newbury Comics that
last Friday was 25% OFF on all vinyl so I called up
and they still had it. So they were kind of enough to hold it until I got
there which wasn't a long time.
So it originally was $25.99 w/ discount the cost was $19.49.

This album come in two vinyls
All the tracks are the same order as the CD
Just broken up
Side A is 4 tracks
Side B is 3 tracks
Side C is 4 tracks
Side D is 3 tracks

The gatefold includes the intro by Bernie Taupin
and the track list w/ credits of who's playing on each track
just like the inside of the CD booklet.

Vinyl sleeves were just white paper

I was actually hoping to find some candid photos of these musicians
in the studio or something. Matter of fact the artwork on the
inside cover of the CD booklet doesn't appear here.

The vinyl label is like the CD artwork.
Of course vinyl now is much heavier and the sound quality is much better.

Frank Sinatra 100th Birthday

Celebrating Frank Sinatra 100th Birthday.
Although he passed away on May 14, 1998 at the age of 82 that
didn't stop the entertainment business to promote specials, books and music
of The Chairman of the Board.

Here's an anecdotal story of Alice Cooper meeting Frank Sinatra.

from 2007, Alice Cooper, Golf Monster by Alice Cooper
 Pg 165

I was playing on a celebrity softball team with the Carpenters, Steve
Martin, Albert Brooks, Kenny Rogers, and some others. We would meet in
Las Vegas and play for Steve Wynn’s charity against other celebrity teams.
Sometimes these games would draw around 10,000 people.

I was sitting on the bench and there was a kid, about twelve years old,
who wanted to watch the game but couldn’t get in. He wouldn’t give up,
though, and I finally went over and grabbed him and sat him on the bench
next to me and Steve Martin. The kid was happy as a clam.

That night I was out on the town when this guy came over to me. ‘Hey,
Alice, the boss wants to see you.’

I asked myself, "Who’s the boss?”

I follow this guy and it’s Frank Sinatra. “Hey, Coop,” he said.

I was totally flabbergasted. ‘How are you doing, Mr. Sinatra? This is
really an honor.”

“Hey, man, you did me a real solid today. I owe you.’

Sinatra owes me? “What did I do?‘ I asked.

“You know that kid you let into the baseball game? That was Jilly’s kid.”
Jilly Rizzo was Sinatra’s closest confidant. “I owe you one.’

I called my mom after that. ‘I just met Sinatra! And he owes me one!”

Hot Hits and Top of The Pops albums

I came across this site called Bad Album Covers
Hot Hits and Top of The Pops are compilation sort of like K-Tel albums.

Top of The Pops no relation to the popular BBC show
was a series by Hallmark that ran from 1968 to 1985.

Top of The Pops list Alice Cooper on two albums.
