1993, The Last Temptation Press Kit, Part 1

I really miss going to the local collectible shows. They seem to be the way of vinyl records few and far in between. The ones that do exist are small events and some not worth the time to travel as they are further away from the city.

The Last Temptation album is one of my favorites. Interesting to know Alice's working title was Along Came A Spider. It's a great concept as Alice shows us Steven as a teenager. This album was combined w/ my 2 loves music and comic books. Alice joins up w/ writer Neil Gaiman who was known for his gothic comics most famous Sandman. Teaming up w/ artist Dave McKean who did all 3 covers and album cover and Michael Zulli who illustrated the comic books. Later they would reissue a trade paperback of all 3 stories. One was in color and one was in brown and white. Just pen and ink style w/ a sepia tone of ink looking brown very cool.

The album itself was one of the best. Alice had three producers Andy Wallace, Don Fleming and the team of Duane Baron and John Purdell. Andy Wallace is one of my favorite producer since he worked w/ another of my favorite band Blind Melon. Alice also had a number of guest one I have to point out is Chris Cornel of Soundgarden. Chris gave Alice 2 songs "Stolen Prayer" and "Unholy War". Chris also sings background vocals on "Stolen Prayer". If you have a chance to listen to Chris's demo of "Stolen Prayer" it's pretty cool hearing Chris sing this song.
Two other tracks that didn't make it co-written by Tommy Shaw (Styx) and Jack Blades (Damn Yankees) made it to only demos "I Dare You" and "Invisible Strings". Plus two other songs that didn't make it for one reason or another "Blood Brother" which later became "Bad Place Alone" and "Best Friend".

This again would of been a great live show. I could even see this as an animation of the album. But Alice did sing 4 tracks "Sideshow", "Lost In America", Cleansed By Fire", "Nothing's Free" during his Rock and Roll Carnival Tour.

On to this promo everything was photocopied except for one photo of Alice. They also included the 1st issue that was given away w/ the CD.

First page was the intro letter of The Last Temptation

This comic book is the first issue that was w/ the CD purchase. The cover is different if you bought this on the stand.

This was a stapled folder of The Last Temptation.
The package also included a type written version on Epic letterhead which later was transferred in this booklet w/ Titles in each chapter.

Michael Bruce / Josiah Bruce

I remember getting this through Michael Bruce's Torn Ticket Production. This is all photocopies including 2 photocopies photos of Michael Bruce. One from his '73 Billion Dollar Babies Tour photo that was signed in marker and other looks like a 1990 photo from Josiah Bruce.

A short Bio of Bruce and his brief 1990 band Josiah Bruce which Michael play guitar and Josiah vocals.

This also included a cassette tape that has Bruce's bands throughout his career. The tape list 4 songs by 1965 Wild Flowers that is very British band influences like The Beatles and The Yardbirds. It sounds like they took this from a 45. You can hear the needle on vinyl w/ some hiss and crackles.
3 songs by 1990 Josiah Bruce that are bluesy rock. The rest of the tape includes solo and 2 Billion Dollar Babies, Battle Axe songs.

The cassette list as followed...

Wild Flowers: (1965)
A Man Like Myself, One A Day Like Today, More Than Me, Moving Along With The Sun

Michael Bruce: (1975) In My Own Way album
King of America, In My Own Way, Rock Rolls On (Alice Cooper background vocals)

Billion Dollar Babies: (1977) Battle Axe album

2008, Along Came A Spider Postcard

Along Came A Spider is a great concept album that Alice released in '08.
I was hoping he would do a full blown tour. You have many visual songs that would of been great to perform on stage. It's sort of a heavy metal version of From The Inside.
The 10 minute promo was great and the art work on the CD and Vinyl I just thought was very creative.
Just to point out that Piggy D was the Art Director and Designer. I was actually picturing the concert in my head. Unfortunately Alice only sang one song "Vengeance Is Mine" in concert. In 2000 Brutal Planet is last concert close to promoting an album in which he covered 8 songs and that was 12 years ago. Alice says he doesn't want to be a nostalgic band but to me that's what he's doing only w/ a younger band. Now don't get me wrong I am not dissing Alice. He's very creative and has interesting songs. I expect more from him than other performers who just fall on their back catalog of hits.
It's like an artist who creates these wonderful paintings then places them in a closet.

Below is the front and back of the postcard.

On the top of the back postcard has a quote from Welcome To My Nightmare "Black Widow"

2000, The Louisville Palace, Stage Door

This Stage Door program is from The Louisville Palace Sept/Oct/Nov 2000.
This was given to me by a good friend.
Located in the States of Louisville, Kentucky. This program list all the entertainment in late 2000.
Alice appears on page 2, performing Sept 30th as he is promoting his new release of A Fistful of Alice that is his live CD. A good CD btw that includes a number of guest from Sammy Hagar, Slash and Rob Zombie. Of course these people didn't tour w/ Alice but Slash was known to pop up from time to time.

1973, Dali and Alice Press Release

This is actual a photocopy of the '73 press release of Dali and Alice collaboration on the hologram.
I got this through The Glen Buxton Memorial that included a few other items in the package.
I know many have seen this photo that is available as a postcard. I actually had a friend send me one from the Dali Museum in Florida but not many read the release by Alive Productions.

2012 Syfy Bigfoot movie

This is the type of movie Alice likes to do. A very cheap B rated movie. It was so funny I don't know if they intended that way. The Bigfoot CGI reminded me a bit of The Abominable Snowman from Rudolph, The Red Nose Reindeer. I think it would of been better if they didn't show Bigfoot right away. Give it a build up first but the first 5 minutes he appears. After tossing bodies and biting their heads and limbs off the local police still call this a folklore. You think the remaining people are lying to them. They make the Army Reserves look dumb as a day late and a dollar short. It seems the towns people can find Bigfoot w/ their pick up trucks but the Army Reserves w/ helicopters and tanks are always one step behind.
Alice appears in the beginning 2nd half hour of the show right after the first commercial. Bigfoot drop kicks Alice across the field it was very funny. Alice's appearance lasted about 3 to 5 minutes. Alice didn't sing any of his music that would of cost Syfy more money. Instead the band no one I recognized played a generic tune while Alice is whipping the mic stand. It was a good movie to watch on the weekend. It sort of reminds me of those Creature Double Features movies I know and love.
