2007, Alice Cooper, Golf Monster by Alice Cooper

2007 (hardcover)
Alice Cooper, Golf Monster
A Rock 'n' Roll 12 Step to Becoming a Golf Addict
By Alice Cooper
with Keith and Kent Zimmerman

This isn’t a book about the musical side of Alice Cooper per say. Yes! Alice talks about his
musical career but it’s more of a foundation leading into his bout w/ alcohol. This story
takes off where "Me, Alice" left off.

Alice doesn’t talk much about the stories on the road and when he does he just skims over & sugar coats them w/ a sanitized version. Besides that the stories you heard in interviews are pretty much the same ones in the book. Such as the Elvis visit or John Lennon listening to Elected…One of the good stories I haven’t heard
before was w/ Bob
Ezrin when he was conducting the Toronto Symphony to record “Only Women Bleed”,
on page 121.

Not much w/ the original band and covering the albums. Alice again just mentions them
in one or two sentences. Alice’s reason for the band to break up is they didn’t want to
get up early to do interviews.

There is plenty of talk on golf hence the title of the book. You have chapters & chapters
about how to stand, hold a club etc… Plus the ending chapter w/ golf tips by Alice.
None which interests me.

The only album that was in detail is the making of “From The Inside.” This is due to
his time in the hospital drying out. Take out the golf tip chapters, photos and this book is pretty thin.
There are a few good stories if you weed through the golf instructions.

A lot of Alice fans bought this book so I won't bore you w/ the photos.
I'm just posting a few that I haven't seen much of lately in print.
There is plenty of golf photos with celebrities and golf pros.
